Julia Cannell
Julia is far more than just the Executive Director of Airway Sciences For Kids (ASK) - she’s also a veritable Swiss Army Knife of talents and experiences. She holds a bachelor’s degree in flight technology, a Master’s in leadership, and an MBA in aviation business / management. A trained pilot since her teenage years living on a hay farm, she’s as comfortable around airplanes and harvesting combines as she is in board rooms talking with CEO’s of major airlines and Fortune 500 companies. She was a major buyer for globally-renowned department stores and retail outlets. She’s worked with nonprofits aimed at helping children for years, and has done such work through the United States and overseas. She’s a pioneer in developing Virtual Field Trips, broadcast on Twitch and other platforms, to audiences around the world (literally). She knows more about the history of the DC-3 airplane, of the creation of global airlines, and of women in aviation than most anyone else. She once restored a 1965 Mustang, then walked away from it after a semi crushed it on the freeway. She’s never met a dog she didn’t love. She is more than slightly obsessed with flamingos, Disney anything, and gardening. Oh, and she is also the mother of four grown children, has four grandchildren, and has been a foster mom to over one hundred other kids over the past three decades (she’s also been a government-sanctioned foster parent trainer).
Yeah, she’s pretty much a rock star. You should get to know her.
